Boss Pedals, Amps & Tuners FAQs

Is Boss the Best Guitar Pedal Brand?
Boss is the biggest and best selling manufacturer of guitar pedals worldwide, with everyone from local guitarists to major international touring bands using them. They are known for their reliability and compact design. Boss are the go-to brand for guitar effects with their legendary range of single effects pedals and stompboxes, multi-effects units, and loop stations.

Which Boss pedal do I need?
If you are starting out with guitar pedals, the three most common for all guitarists are a tuner, a drive pedal of some type, and a delay pedal. The TU series of tuners by Boss includes the classic TU3 loved by musicians for its precision and sturdiness. Drive pedals are a type of pedal that adds gain to your signal, and can range from a mildly overdriven kick to crunchy distortion to all-out fuzz madness. A delay pedal is a type of echo effect that can be used to create all kinds of atmospheric soundscapes and add depth of tone to your playing. Once you're comfortable crafting new tones with these three, a loop station will allow you to really hone your craft and create rich, layered and immersive arrangements.

Should I buy a Boss Stompbox?
Boss stompboxes are the best selling guitar effect pedals in the world. If you want a robust guitar pedal that will stand the test of time then you can’t go wrong with a Boss stompbox. They have a very solid construction, easy to access battery compartment and large rubber pads to stop them moving whilst in use. They also have a large surface, dual purpose LEDs, and come colour coded to make using them as easy as possible, allowing you to identify them at a glance even on a dark stage. If you are serious about guitar playing, a Boss stompbox is a very wise investment.
