G&L Guitars
G&L Guitars offer incredible value with impressive quality and plenty of history. Leo Fender left Fender Guitars and set up G&L, bringing all of his knowledge and experience to his new company. Today the G&L factory continues production as Leo would have wanted. His private workshop, the centre of his creativity, remains untouched as it was on his last day and has been visited by music people from around the world.
While the people of G&L continue to build the instruments with love, dedication and skill.
World class artists have chosen to use G&L Bass guitars with artists such as Tom Hamilton from the famous Aerosmith and many more well known artists. Let’s take a look at one of the famous bass guitars and have a review from one of our Rimmers Music staff!
The G&L Tribute bass range, which are made in Indonesia, has been something of a success over the past few years. This particular L-2000 is seriously good-looking and features a carved flame maple top along with an extensive array of controls, perhaps too many for some players.
The G&L L2000 is a bass players bass! with features like passive/active circuitry and a three way pickup selector switch. One of the great things about not only the L2000 but with the entire G&L Legacy series is that for such a reasonable price you are getting a instrument loaded with American made pickups. The pickups in the L2000 are G&L’s very own L-spec G&L MFD™ Humbucking pickups designed by Leo himself.
This bass boasts an absolutely gorgeous three tone sunburst finish with a beautiful wood grain underneath. The maple fingerboard feels amazing and is really smooth to play on.
All in all this is an amazing bass for the price with features you would not necessarily find on other basses in this price point.
