Sigma Guitars
Sigma is well-regarded as some of the best value-for-money acoustic guitars on the market and they cater for beginners through to pro players who need a guitar for gigging.
Sigma guitars have outstanding quality in both construction and sound, for over 40 years Sigma has remained at the top of their field. They produce many different styles and body, whether you want the ultimate gigging dreadnought or a pickup-on-board, Sigma will have something in their range.
The guitars capture the look of American folk guitars, which look incredible.
Resonators – In an effort to ensure that every style of acoustic guitar is covered, Sigma have also got a handful of resonator guitars. The RM-140+ is available with and without a pickup and features a round neck meaning its been designed for guitarists and not lap steel players.
Classical Guitars – Of course, no acoustic guitar range would be complete without a few classical nylon string guitars thrown into the mix. The Sigma classics have all got pickup systems on-board and are made to give you great flamenco and Spanish tones every time you plug in.
Let’s take a look at some Sigma guitars:
Sigma TM-12e Electro Acoustic Guitar
The Sigma TM-12E is quite possibly one of the best electro-acoustic guitars in the Travel Series, even rivalling its inspiration, the LXME Little Martin in sound and design. It has all the love, care and attention to detail you would expect from a Martin but at almost half the price!
Possibly the most impressive feature is that the TM-12E matches the LXME with the legendary Fishman ISYS T Onboard Preamp System. It comes complete with EQ tone shaping, phase controls and a pre-wired Fishman sonicore pickup, meaning you can perfectly amplify the TM-12Es bright tone. This superbly put together travel guitar is perfect for a holiday or a band tour!
Sigma DR-1ST-SB Acoustic Dreadnought Guitar
The DR-1ST-SB is a beautiful, great sounding acoustic that punches way above its price bracket. Originally part of Martin Guitars, Sigmas are very similar to their higher-end cousins but affordable enough to be a beginner guitar.
With a mahogany bottom and sides and a solid spruce top, this guitar has really well-rounded bass and treble. It’s an incredibly versatile instrument so you can easily play any style you want. Grover tuners and a bone nut mean your strings will stay in tune longer which means you spend less time stopping to re-tune and more time playing.
If you’re new to playing the guitar you want one that’s comfortable, well set up and easy to play and Sigmas are a great choice that won’t hurt your wallet. While your learning your guitar will take a bit of a bashing, this guitar is tough enough to bear with you while your technique improves.
We stock Sigma guitars in many of our stores, below we have our Liverpool store and an insight into the collection available here.
