Here at Rimmers Music, we cater for all music needs, and we provide amps to meet all instrument needs. Do not just buy an amp that you can get your hands on, just because you think it will be fine. Be sure to check which amp can do what, as a guitar amp creates completely different results than what a keyboard amp would. Amps come in many different forms, we have acoustic amps, electric guitar amps, keyboard amps and more; all of which have individual qualities that produce different results.

So, where do you start?
Firstly, you need to think of the instrument you play and then read through the next points to understand what the amp will produce for you in terms of sound and more:

Guitar Amplifiers

Without an amp for your electric guitar, the sound you produce will be acoustic, not electric. An amplifier strengthens the signal from your guitar and picks up the energy travelling through the sound waves. The correct amplifier will encourage you to project your musical message and will reach your audience. Whether you are playing in gigs or busking you will need an amp and there is a variety to choose from that can supply better sound quality, tonal range and also based on your power supply.
If you have a bass guitar you will need to be looking for a different amplifier to produce a different outcome, as the amps are made for lower wavelengths due to the frequency that the bass guitars produce. Bass amps produce different tone ranges that range from distorted to warm, including everything else in-between. Therefore, it is very important to get the right amp for your bass guitar to ensure you get the best sounds.
It does not end there, we need to think of acoustic guitars as well as electric and bass. Having an amp for an acoustic is essential if you want to develop your sound, they are designed to reproduce the natural sound as accurate as possible. If you want to get the purest sound out of your amplifier then be sure to purchase the correct amp to ensure no distortion is affecting the sound produced.
Keyboard Amplifiers

A keyboard amp can vary in many different ways, and depending on what you are using it for there are many reasons as to why you may be looking to purchase an amp.
If you are using your keyboard at home, an amp may be purchased to improve the sound quality by adding more depth to the tone, the amps are designed to give more clarity to the sound produced.

If you are using a stereo or digital keyboard then you may want to purchase two amplifiers for a wide spread of sound, this is more for individuals who are playing live or busking – the more wattage the higher the chances are that more people will hear you. A monitor speaker is also an option to consider as you will be able to hear the sounds produced over the rest of a band playing, and as an extra bonus you can also plug in a microphone to either perform or just to introduce yourself.

Digital Drum Amplifiers
Digital drum kits are usually used with headphones, which is great for quiet practice if you do not want to disturb others – however, if you play in a band or you are playing live then an amplifier is perfect as you can be as loud as possible and really rock out. The amplifiers for a drum kit really capture a wide variety of sounds and also monitor high and low frequencies.
Multi-Purpose Amplifiers
If you are in a band, or you just have a number of instruments then a multi-purpose amp is the perfect solution, they have numerous input sources for you to hook your instruments too. Alongside this, they also allow you to customise each input individually so they can produce different sounds. Whether you are a guitarist, vocalist, drummer or all of the above – multipurpose amps have everything you need in one place.
